Brand Identity · Event Production · Campaign Art Direction
Ongoing freelance, 5 years, 5–7 events annually
BCA runs competitive dance events across multiple disciplines, contemporary, K-pop, street dance, and championship formats. For five years I've been their sole designer, owning the full visual identity and physical production for every event: 5 to 7 competitions a year, each built out from an established sub-brand through to the printed backdrop.
The Brief
Every event needed its own identity, different discipline, different audience energy, different feel, with no repeated visual language between them. And someone had to own all of it: not just the campaign graphics, but the physical objects people touch and stand in front of on competition day.
What I Own
For each competition: the full poster and digital campaign, targeted paid ads, and every physical asset on-site, backdrops, awards, and medals, designed flat in Illustrator with the assembled object in mind, working directly with the production vendor on shape and finish within budget. I also provide ongoing support and maintenance for the BCA website.
AI in this project
AI-assisted image generation and compositing support the visual production for select campaigns, backgrounds, effects, and imagery integrated with photography and graphic elements, letting each event's identity come together fast within a tight annual cycle.
Outcome
Five years of continuous, independent ownership: every logo, every campaign, every physical asset, across 25–35+ individual events to date, with no drop in quality or consistency despite a new brand identity required every time.
